Who We are
A bit about us
Maintain a venue to promote sociability and good will among our membership and sustain German culture, traditions and customs within our community.
In the early sixties, a small group of German-Americans came together with a dream of sharing German culture and traditions with the greater Orlando area. Together they formed the structure of the club and by 1963, the German American Society of Central Florida was founded as the area’s first non-profit German society.
In 1972, with the love and support of members and the community, GASOCF purchased their trademark Casselberry clubhouse property. This became the hub for all club activities and the first German Club Oktoberfest.
Today the society boasts over 500 members and holds three highly anticipated community festivals each year, Springtoberfest in April and two Oktoberfests in October. The popular festivals draw in over 8,000 visitors each year.
